Impregnated Sleeper Factory in Gory

About us



The sleeper impregnation plant is one of the oldest enterprises in Gori city, Georgia. The plant was built in in 1893 and belonged to the Finnish industrialist A. Zezeman. The enterprise was mainly supplied with local raw materials. The sleepers were impregnated in a vulcanized way. The plant produced approx. 1000-1500 cubic meters of products per year. Factory was equipped with new equipment since 1965, which significantly improved the quality and quantity of products (110-124 thousand cubic meters per year). The wood for the plant was mainly supplied by the Krasnoyarsk forest base, and the chemical materials were supplied from the Donetsk region, Ukraine. The factory served the railway industry and supplied its products to various regions of the former USSR, as well as to foreign countries.

Impregnated Sleeper Factory of Georgia, LTD has been operating since 2003. A complete reconstruction of the plant was carried out in 2005. The plant is equipped with new technological units that produce steamed, high-pressure impregnated sleepers in accordance with European and national standards. Impregnated Sleeper Factory of Georgia, LTD is one of the leading suppliers of impregnated sleepers for such large organizations as JSC "Georgian Railway", the Georgian Metro and for many organizations. 95% of the sleepers used by the Georgian Railway in 2006-2009 were supplied by our plant. The factory successfully participates in various tenders.
